The Ville to Ville Craft Brew Relay celebrates the beautiful region from Asheville, NC to Greenville, SC. It is a 75-mile team running event traveling from the peaks to the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, through local craft breweries, and into quaint southern towns. 

The Ville to Ville Craft Brew Relay will be held April 18, 2020. The first flight of teams will start the relay around 5:00 am. Over the next few hours, additional teams will depart on their journey through the Carolinas. Each team will consist of three to six runners who will split 12 legs ranging from 3-9 miles. Each team will provide their own race vehicle to drop off and pick up runners at designated transition areas along the course route. Ville to Ville teams will arrive in Greenville, SC between 3:00-8:00 pm for a finish line celebration which will include music, food, and of course, craft brews.

All participants must come to one of the welcome receptions and show your ID at check-in. If you are unable to attend either event, you can pick up your packet on Saturday morning at the starting line. Please allow extra time (45 minutes before your start) if you are checking in on Saturday morning.

TEAM VOLUNTEERS

If anyone on your team lives within 100 miles of Asheville, NC or Greenville, SC, you are required to provide one race-day volunteer or pay the $100 volunteer fee. Please visit our VOLUNTEER PAGE to find out more.

TEAM PAYMENTS

All teams will be required to pay a deposit of $225 during your initial registration and will have the option to pay the entire fee of $675. Teams that only pay the deposit must pay the remainder of your team fee ($450) by January 15, 2020, at midnight.   Teams with unpaid fees on January 16, 2020, will lose their spot in the race and their non-refundable deposit. Team rosters should be finalized by February 18, 2020. There is a 5.5% processing fee on all online payments.

AGE & ID REQUIREMENTS

All runners must be 21 years old or older to participate in the Ville to Ville Craft Brew Relay and proper identification will be required during packet pick-up to verify age.

TEAM NAME

Be creative, but keep it classy. Your team name will appear in lots of public places, so make sure it is one that would make your mother proud. You will submit your team name during registration, but it can be changed until February 18, 2020.

TEAM CATEGORIES

Ultra Male (3 runners, 1-3 males)
Ultra Female (3 runners, all female)
Open Co-ed (minimum of 2 females)
Open Male ( all male team or all males plus 1 female)
Open Female (all females)
Masters Male (all male team or all males plus 1 female, all members 40+)
Masters Female (all females, all members 40+)
Masters Co-ed (minimum of 2 females, all members 40+)

TEAM CAPTAIN

Each team will have a team captain (we will initially use the name and contact info of the person registering.) We will provide regular race information and updates for the team captain on our Captain Resources page and through monthly email newsletters.

TEAM PACE

In order to make it to the post-race party in one day, it is mandatory to have a team pace of 10:30 minutes per mile or less.  This doesn’t mean that everyone on the team has to run at this pace, but it does mean that if you have slower team members, you will need faster team members to keep your team on track.

You will estimate a team pace when you register your team with an average min/mile pace for all runners on the entire course.  For a 6-person team, each runner will run twice between 3-9 miles, so a 10K time average would be expected. Final team pace estimates will be due on February 18, 2020.

CANCELLATION / WEATHER

This is a rain or shine event. The race director has the right to change the course or change the event in case of inclement weather.  More details on our weather policy can be found in our GUIDEBOOK.

2020 Ville to Ville Ambassador Program

Running Ambassadors:

We are looking for a few excited V2V fans to join our inaugural Ville to Ville Ambassador Program for 2020. We will be accepting applications until November 15, 2019.  2020 Ambassadors will be announced on or before December 1, 2019.  All levels of runners may apply.  Ambassadors should be able to influence runners through their businesses, social media accounts, and/or their local running groups.

*All applicants must have participated in either the 2018 or 2019 Ville to Ville Craft Brew Relay. After all, you cannot promote something you have never been a part of.  Also, please do not submit an application if you are a current ambassador for another relay.  We would like to have your positive energy solely dedicated to Ville to Ville.

What is a V2V Ambassador:

Our ambassadors will be individuals who love running, craft beer, and their past experiences at Ville to Ville events. They will love a challenge, pushing themselves, and encouraging others to achieve their goals.  They will be active participants in their running communities.

Recruitment Benefits:

  • Recruit 1-15 teams: $50 cash, $50 V2V race credit or 1 VIP Finish Line Ticket ($79 value) per recruited team.
  • Recruit 16 teams or more: $75 cash or V2V credit per additional team recruited (unlimited until sell-out).
    *$50 discounts, VIP tickets and cash/credit for recruiting teams is only available for the V2V Extreme at this time.

Ambassador Expectations:

  • Promote Ville to Ville events on social media at least once a month.
  • Communicate V2V marketing opportunities in your community to V2V Race Directors.

  • Spread the word and advocate for everything Ville to Ville.
